Rama* age 14

“We are children who stand against early marriage.”

When she first arrived with her family at Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan, 14-year-old Rama was recovering from a serious injury caused by an airstrike in Syria and was plagued by negative thoughts.

Her big sister, Hiba*, helped her find hope through writing and rap, and the sisters are growing in confidence thanks to Save the Children’s training programme, which builds young people’s courage and agency. “Adults should learn from children,” says Rama. “We have so much to show them.”
