  • The distribution provided 950 families with rice, beans and oil after their crops and homes were destroyed by cyclone Idai. Save the Children is supporting children and their families in the worst-hit areas of Mozambique. We are distributing emergency supplies such as food, mosquito nets and tents, and have set up Children Friendly Spaces where children can recover from the trauma they have experienced in a safe environment. Save the Children has also deployed its Emergency Health Unit to provide life-saving healthcare.

HOW THIS PRODUCT HELPS

A devastating cyclone in Mozambique destroyed Joanna’s home and crops, leaving her with almost nothing to give her baby Wesley. “It destroyed corn that was still growing,” she says. “There is no cucumber or tomato – we only had rotten to give to my child.” We delivered food packages containing rice, beans and oil to hundreds of the worst-affected families – so mums like Joanna could give their children enough to eat.
